Delivering Interactive Climate Action Packs for Islamic Relief
background
Islamic Relief UK, a charity dedicated to humanitarian and environmental causes, planned a nationwide campaign to mark Muslim Climate Action Week—an initiative designed to engage Muslim communities in climate education and grassroots action.
They reached out to bakergoodchild with an idea: could we help them bring this campaign to life with a creative, interactive pack that would inspire action the moment it landed?
The brief was clear but ambitious: create something tactile, engaging, and educational—while ensuring everything was sustainably sourced, branded, and fulfilled on a tight schedule.
our approach
From day one, this was a collaborative process. We worked closely with the Islamic Relief team to understand what the campaign stood for, who the audience was, and how we could help translate their message into something physical, shareable, and impactful.
As a charity, cost efficiency was a major priority—so we helped Islamic Relief navigate available options and make smart decisions that maximised impact while remaining budget-conscious. We advised on formats, materials, and production methods that could deliver the interactivity they wanted, without stretching their resources.
The final pack included:
- Branded sunflower seeds – encouraging participants to plant and nurture something of their own
- Branded pencils – chosen to match the colouring sheet and reinforce the campaign identity
- Custom colouring-by-numbers sheets – engaging children directly in the climate conversation
- Variable letters and posters – for supporting detail and tailored messaging
We worked alongside the client’s design team to ensure all elements were aligned visually and thematically—particularly making sure the pencils matched the colouring content.
sustainability at the core
Having recently achieved carbon neutral status, it was crucial for us to ensure that every component of the pack reflected Islamic Relief’s—and our own—commitment to sustainability.
All items were responsibly sourced, with eco-conscious materials used across the board: from FSC-certified paper to compostable seed packaging. The project aligned with the campaign’s values and set the right example for recipients.
fast turnaround, full service
This project came with a challenging 10-working-day delivery window—from sourcing to branding, enclosing, and dispatching the final packs.
We handled everything in-house, coordinating each stage to ensure quality and timeliness. The final packs landed on schedule and were well-received by schools and organisations across the UK.
the result
Islamic Relief were delighted with the finished packs and the response they received. We’re proud to have played a part in helping such a meaningful campaign reach people in a way that was both fun and informative—and most importantly, aligned with the message it carried.
“Working with the bakergoodchild team was fantastic from conception to delivery. The team were incredibly helpful and agile throughout the process, working to tight deadlines with great communication, and even accommodating last-minute requests. We’re excited to work together again!”
