Refurbishing the Fulfilment and Postage Process for a European Mobile Phone Company.
challenge:
Phoenix Cellular are one of Europe’s largest suppliers of wholesale refurbished mobile phones. Phoenix Cellular approached bakergoodchild as they needed a fast, reliable solution to facilitate the packaging and postage of their clients’ mobile devices. This solution needed to include a function to enable them to trace each pre-paid Royal Mail delivery label by client, to enable them to accurately reconcile which devices had been returned to them.
solution:
bakergoodchild developed a bespoke automated solution through their Automated Data Processing System. This solution automatically retrieved client data from an SFTP on a daily basis at 12pm. Once the file has been received, live print files are produced instantly and the production process begins. Letters are printed and enclosed with a Royal Mail tracking label.
bakergoodchild developed an application to ensure integrity throughout the hand fulfilment process. This application was expanded to export the data from the letters and labels being enclosed utilising the 2D barcodes on both items. At 3pm the automated solution joins the original data with the tracking label barcode content to create a return file that is uploaded to the SFTP for the customer to collect and later reconcile.
result:
bakergoodchild now successfully deliver hundreds of packages a week on behalf of Phoenix Cellular all within a 24-hour window. This gives the client both integrity and visibility on all of these business critical mail pieces.
“bakergoodchild have made it quick and easy to get our postage packs out to our customers. The automation gives us confidence that it is all in hand and frees us to tend to other urgent needs. They act in a timely manner and quickly supply replacements when needed. The staff are wonderful and offer a very high standard of customer service.”

bakergoodchild installed their Hybrid Mail print driver which allowed users to select appropriate postal service and letterhead, with documents automatically uploaded to their web archive. Over 200 users successfully onboarded after successful trial period.
bakergoodchild advised the customer to make some small changes to their CRM system, adding in flags and new fields to indicate which prospects were needing which communication at what time. bakergoodchild then developed a bespoke set of APIs to connect to Hubspot, collecting data in real time, relating to the recipients flagged by the customer.
Working closely with TriPartum; bakergoodchild’s in house development team agreed a uniform index format that was suitable for bakergoodchild’s Automated Data Processing System (ADPS). TriPartum then conducted a large standardisation process, to ensure the print files, indexes, reconciliation reports, naming conventions and upload file structures were presented in a uniform fashion for each job regardless of brand or format.
